The SSB Demodulator and AF Amplifier

The first step in demodulating a SSB signal is to put a narrowband bandpassfilter in front of the demodulator. I have developed a crystal filter made of single crystals to avoid the relatively high cost of a crystal filter.

After filtering the signal we can mix it down to audio frequencies to demodulate it. This is done in the following circuit.

The output frequency of the demodulator can be improved by a little bit of audio filtering. The signal is then amplified by an integrated low impedance audio amplifier.
